Job Descriptions

The Global Logistics Manager owns everything related to transportation & logistics in our supply chain organization. This individual is responsible for managing all aspects of import and domestic transportation, warehousing, and logistics from factories to distribution. This position works directly with the SIOP team, customer service and the warehouse with the primary daily focus being the processing of orders to manage the day to day business needs while meeting customers lead times. This includes driving the efforts of the warehouse team in getting orders processed and shipped in a timely manner. We use NetSuite as the main driver to generate orders to the warehouse. This requires a thorough understanding of prioritization and balance in a fast-paced work environment to ensure we’re maximizing strategy with profit and customer satisfaction while considering limited resources.

Objectives

  • Drive multi-channel growth by ensuring that finished goods inventory arrives at in-market distribution nodes on time, and service levels are met for turnaround of product in the warehouses

  • Optimize margin and profitability by minimizing freight and warehousing spend required to achieve primary goal of protecting instocks through complete, and on time deliveries

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of import and domestic transportation from factories to in-market distribution nodes (Amazon FBA, 3PL) and between nodes

  • Manage freight forwarder and carrier relationships; create and book shipments including ocean containers, air freight, and domestic trucking across all carriers

  • Ensure ocean, air, parcel, and trucking contracts are in place; lead periodic RFP processes to get the best possible rates and SLAs from carriers

  • Execute all daily tasks related to shipments, conduct general problem solving and troubleshoot issues with freight, deliveries, etc.

  • Measure logistics partner performance against KPIs

  • Document supply chain/ logistics processes, create an inbound routing guide

  • Advise the team regarding logistics issues including but not limited to exams, freight claims, missing/ incorrect documentation, overages & shortages, invoicing, customs

  • Manage global warehousing operations utilizing metrics and direct engagement, both inhouse/3PL/contract facilities

  • Manage programs regarding duty/tax drawback

  • This position is responsible to work with 3rd parties regarding promo/seasonal program pack outs up to and including pack out and preparation for final customer distribution using varying time frames based on the program parameters. 

 

Skills Required

  • At least 5 years of experience in a transportation & logistics management role, including international experience
  • Significant experience with freight bookings and allocations for ocean, air, parcel and trucking
  • Experience with managing and optimizing warehouse operations
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience building effective and scalable processes
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to develop insights for the executive team
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel with the ability to apply vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs and other key formulas to analyze data and solve problems
  • Ability to communicate with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership presence with ability to think critically and conceptualize future framework
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and data-driven organization
