The principal packaging designer will develop/enhance new and existing packaging that will complement our successful product line. This position is a unique opportunity to infuse our brand DNA into beautiful, cost-effective packaging solutions that stylishly present our products at every consumer touch point. The designer will partner with internal Design Management and Marketing teams for general direction and brand resonance. This position reports to the Creative Services Manager.

Requirements
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a design related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Proficient in the Adobe Suite. Rhino 3D modeling
  • Passionate and demonstrates creative ability
  • Have a proven track record and design accomplishments
  • Are able to articulate and present your ideas, delivering design solutions with well-considered, quality finishing details
  • Can create clear and concise tech packs
  • Have experience in designing consumer products, ideally for a premium brand

Product Design Engineer

The Product Design Engineer will be a key contributor in the global and lifestyle oriented New Product Development group. The candidate will work in a fast paced and results oriented environment and will have the ability to develop innovative, mechanically complex and technologically advanced projects to high quality expectations. They will also interface as a team member across internal departments; Marketing, Industrial Design, Model and Tool making as well as the China based manufacturing facilities and China based suppliers to manage multiple projects to new product launches.

Requirements
  • Have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering/design discipline with three plus years experience
  • Perform CAD engineering, materials specification and documentation for quality writing instrument designs. Complex surfacing, mechanisms, FEA and CNC prototyping experience or enthusiasm to learn is a plus.
  • Work with multiple projects and project teams to specific launch dates. Track vendor and internal deliverables. Interface with Marketing, Design, QA, Purchasing and Planning to establish product direction, design and development of new products. Communicate the status of all projects.
  • Work with the China Manufacturing facility to transition new product designs to mass production. Communicate with China based suppliers on sample deliveries and development activities. Manufacturing environment knowledge is a plus. Chinese speaking is a plus. The position requires extended periods of travel to China

The Manager of Technology Development will provide a strong technical leadership role in Technology Development. Responsible for the formulation, recommendation and direction of Technology Development programs; coordinates internal and external development programs; develops new innovative writing systems, materials, finishes, and their associate processes. Incumbent must have sound knowledge of writing system technologies, processes and procedures, with demonstrable managerial skills in organizing, analyzing, planning and communication. The ability to interact with all levels of the organization is essential.

Requirements Technical Competence
  • Minimum ten plus years of appropriate technical experience and demonstrated competence in a Research and Development environment. Ability and desire to remain knowledgeable and current in materials, finishes, and writing system disciplines
  • Ability to develop and apply advanced engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems
  • PhD in engineering recommended; Masters Degree required
Leadership
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and constructively advise subordinate staff members and supporting team members
  • Ability to direct major technology efforts and effectively and efficiently transition best in class technologies into a manufacturable process
  • Management skills must include scheduling, budget management, business analysis, and team building as well as frequent technical contributions
Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills. Candidate must be able to professionally present technical presentations internally and externally to Cross
  • Ability to clearly communicate and document project status and action items to Cross management and patent consul
  • Capacity to review and understand corporate and departmental strategies and implement these into the tactics of the project team

Manager, Compensation and Benefits

The Manager of Compensation and Benefits will work in partnership with the Company’s leadership to assess the Company’s global compensation structure. In particular, this position will lead in the research, design, development and management of the Company’s global compensation philosophy, strategy, policies and programs to maximize employee engagement and drive sales and profitability. This position will develop a total rewards strategy to insure the right mix and offerings are available to attract and retain a high performing workforce including developing base and variable pay structures, incentives, bonus programs, and administrative guidelines based on business needs and objectives.

Incumbent will provide recommendations for the alignment of compensation plans, policies and programs to support Cross’s employment brand, as well as the attainment of short and long-range goals and objectives. The incumbent will serve as the internal expert and consultant for compensation best practices, industry trends, legislative issues and market competitiveness. The incumbent will look to effectively manage cost while ensuring the Company has competitive benefits offerings for our employees. The Manger of Compensation and Benefits will consult with and direct global HR generalists on matters related to compensation issues and trends.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years compensation experience in a global publicly traded consumer products company
  • Minimum of 7 yrs management experience
  • Experience working directly with an executive team and compensation committee of a board of directors
  • Demonstrated strategic, management, analytical, organizational and team management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and administering complex strategies and philosophies, as well as the ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed focus on execution
  • Excellent knowledge of current trends and practices relating to global benefits and compensation as well as interaction with related networking associations
  • Proven leadership, visionary skills with innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of stock administration practices and programs preferred
  • Experience providing exemplary customer service to internal clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to influence leaders and HR colleagues at all levels
