Design Engineer/Project Manager

Summary: Headquartered in Lincoln, Rhode Island, this organization is seeking a Design Engineer/Project Manager to join a cutting edge design, engineering, and marketing organization that is fully engaged in repositioning Cross as a major Lifestyles Accessories Brand. Specifications: The Manager of Design Engineering is responsible for the development of quality writing instruments and other Cross products, accessories, concepts, and designs. This position is responsible for the design and continuous improvement of a complete world class product from concept through product introduction, including concept generation, preliminary design, models, testing, tooling, and pilot production. Engineering product development processes are performed concurrently and seamlessly with those of the Industrial Design and Marketing departments.

The position reports to the Director of Research and Development
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience
  • Strong background in product design, innovation, invention, and creati
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively within a product development team environment across several departments (industrial design, engineering, china manufacturing, marketing, sales, finance, etc)
  • In-depth understanding of the design and manufacturing processes, quality systems, documentation procedures and operational methods related to the engineering and manufacture of high quality consumer products.
  • Proven experience in the design of spun, drawn, stamped, turned, cast metal parts as well as injection molded plastic parts for high volume manufacturing is a plus
  • Working knowledge of modern design and manufacturing tools such as CAD, CNC, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Design for Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Pro-Engineer/Wildfire and Design/Manufacturing Software
  • Experience with electronic digital tablet/smartphone input devices is a strong plus.
  • International travel is required.

Ecommerce Manager

Summary: This position involves working closely with the Director of Ecommerce to produce and analyze weekly ecommerce reports to identify trends and adapt strategies accordingly. Digital Designer

Summary: As Cross grows its global presence we are looking for someone to join our team to support the day-to-day needs of our business, e-commerce as well as B2B. We currently have web sites in seven languages across North America, Europe and Asia. The main focus will be to ensure the sites are up and running and content is kept current based on new product launches, marketing activities and seasonal messaging. The incumbent will support the website and may be tasked to additional web support tasks and projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Formal training in graphic design, typography, interactive design and/or visual communications.
  • 5+ years experience in digital and ecommerce design.
  • Exceptional design aesthetics.
  • Highly conceptual and proven ability to interpret and adapt existing brands to the digital space.

Sales Analyst

Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the National Accounts Manager in analysis and forecasting. The incumbent will be responsible for creating sales presentations and maintaining a promotions calendar that provides the National Accounts Manager with the information required for sales development.

This position will act as the key point of contact to coordinate all internal Cross contacts and merchandising companies and is responsible for expanding sales penetration of Cross products into these new national distributions. This position will support the development of account specific sales plans with Cross management and coordinating sales presentations, assortments/offerings, display and merchandising programs, advertising and promotional programs and assuring adequate sales coverage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Secure all appropriate information and analyzes that data in partnership with the Finance department to make accurate sales forecasts. That information includes customer P.O.’s, counter sales, retail pricing information, promotions and advertising support, new store openings, store closings.
  • Work with MIS and the customer’s data processing system to analyze and interpret inventory, turnover, shipments, and sales results.
  • Prepare reports based on analysis that are used by management to determine sales opportunities and direction.
  • Conduct sales forecast and report the required SKUs for support of each of the Stores, and internally for Operations and Marketing
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for the National Accounts Manager, to sales support and sales informational reporting
  • Obtain and utilize product images to create appropriate presentation materials and Plan-O-Grams.
  • Travel to, and perform Store checks to ensure that products are displayed correctly and to provide in-person support and guidance to Store personnel & Planogram Lab.
  • Create, promulgate, monitor and update the National Accounts Promotions calendar to provide direction to all stakeholders on upcoming promotions, product needs, marketing support coordination, etc.
  • Utilize websites to provide updated information on SKUs and other requirements for effective sales support. Continuously review ecommerce sites to identify and update products and promotions to increase online sales performance.
  • Coordination of National Merchandising Companies that serve national accounts.

Qualifications - Education, Licensing, Certification, and Experience:
  • 3-5 years related sales analyst experience with consumer products related to Mass Market Retailers
  • Associates degree or the equivalent in related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet
  • Strong Excel skills is required
  • Ability to report, analyze and explain reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include telephone and face-to-face interaction skills, and fluency in written and spoken English
